July 2018

Dear Sisters in DKG,

Teri, Mardine, and I are so excited about the year we have planned for you! You will get details and calendars after our August 13 board meeting.

Our luncheon at the Wenatchee Golf & Country Club was a great success in my mindÖI hope you had as much fun as I did. Geneva is irreplaceable, but I will try my best to do a good job as president with lots of help from my board. Our scholarship winners should be about ready to head off to their respective schools with our help. That means we are about ready for our new year also.

Teri has a great program planned around the themeÖAnd They Said It Couldnít Be Done! If you have any suggestions for new members, let Mardine know so she can contact them to invite them to our September meeting. Mardine will also include a membership spotlight each month in the newsletter. We will continue to meet at the First United Methodist Church with meeting at 5:00, dinner at 5:30, program to follow. Come early to socialize. Geneva has casino trips scheduled for the year so plan to enjoy a Saturday at Mill Bay each month and support our scholarships. Pauline and I will get together and update our phone tree so all will be called. Kaye Ryan has generously volunteered to be our cook & decorator with lots of help from us. We will have a sign up sheet for monthly meals and clean up at the September meeting. Raffle baskets need people to prepare them each month. Money from the baskets goes to subsidize our June luncheon to make it more affordable for our sisters. You can sign up for those in September also.

We plan to continue our January resupply effort to help teachers in area schools when they need items replaced. School supplies are on sale now so itís a good time to get some crayons colored pencils, dry erase markers, glue or glue sticks, spiral notebooks, and regular markers. We will collect items for that effort each month.

If you are interested in attending the State Fall Board meeting in Yakima, Sept. 28-29, let me know so I can get you a registration form or go to the state website to download one.
Looking forward to seeing all of you in September.
