June 2022                                  website-www.zetachapter.com

    Dear Sisters,

As our year of Rock n Roll comes to an end. I want to mention the people who made it all happen! Teri St. Jean has provided programs that have been informative, fun and part of the theme.  Sherry Schreck writes the best minutes ever so those of you who were unable to attend could keep up with the life of the organization. And Maria Diaz, our treasurer, has kept us on track financially. Ken has been our go to guy for the newsletter plus donating for a scholarship in Charlotte’s name. Cathy Reasor has sent out cards and made our lunches at the Country Club happen. And me… I just coordinate all these wonderful members! I hope you enjoyed having a Rose Buddy…I know Sherry and I have had a great time getting to know each other better. We even attended an Area 2 workshop in Spokane together.

That said, here is the scoop on the luncheon:

Place: Wenatchee Golf and Country Club

Date & time: Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.

Menu: French dip sandwich with your choice of side OR chicken gorgonzola salad. Coffee or iced tea included. Other drinks you can order and pay to the wait staff.

We will welcome our scholarship winners for this year, have a fun program by Teri, enjoy seeing each other in person, and discuss program and plans for next year. We are still in need of a co-president for me to train and a co-casino chair for Denise to train. Without these two people our casino fundraiser cannot continue and leadership for our group will be lost in 2 years when my final term is up. Please consider stepping into these offices!!! I will be calling members so please consider volunteering!

You should have received a letter from Maria Diaz about dues for this coming year. It will be $90…$80 last year. The extra ten is for our local treasury. We only charged state and international dues last year. Since we hope for more in person meetings, we will need $ for the church or wherever we find to meet. Deadline is June 30.

The callers will get in touch with you the weekend before the luncheon for your menu choice. Looking forward to seeing you all!!

This last year in DKG has been such fun.  From painting rocks, to learning how shinny rocks
are placed in our jewelry, to the update on Pinnacles school, to our trip to Rocky Reach Dam
and Dry Falls, to enjoying our Christmas Jingle Bells rock luncheon, to receiving each
others rockin’ recipes to traveling back in time to the Cannon mine hay days,
rockin’ at the Senior Center, and finally our Spring luncheon at the Country Club......
complete with a beverage ‘on the rocks”.

I hope you have good memories of being together this year, whether it be on
Zoom or in person and will join us again next year. Our theme will be:

Please bring a story or memory to share at the Spring luncheon. Stories from the 40’s, 50’s or 60’s about Rockin’ the Night Away. Memories of your favorite song and why, where you went to dance, favorite partner, cost, cars, special moments etc.  We will go around the table and roll with the times. Can’t wait for each one.
